The S&P 500 earnings growth jumped to 47.4% in the second quarter as technology companies like Amazon lead the charge

It's not the first or even second time SoFi stock has dropped after an excellent earnings report. Usually, I'd say that as an expensive stock, there's so much priced into the stock that any imperfection will send it down.

While Ares has historically covered its dividend with core earnings, it has slipped a bit this year. It delivered core earnings of $0.47 per share in both the first and second quarters, down from $0.50 per share over the previous three quarters and just below its $0.48-per-share quarterly dividend.

The e-commerce service provider has a lot to prove.
